Contemporary American scriptwriter and playwright John Logan’s play Red focuses on one of the brightest personalities of the postwar artworld – Mark Rothko. Rothko persistently claimed that an artist’s truth is above any social interest, which even today still inspires many young creatives at the beginning of their artistic path. In the play, the charismatic Lithuanian actor Valentinas Masalskis, as Rothko himself, attempts to find his connection with youth and the new generation.
