Based on Justinas Marcinkevičius poem “Spider’s Wedding”, musical performance for kids, created by Klaipėda Youth Theatre, is a witty and revealing story. It is a musical allegory, that exposes our vices. During the performance audience will meet impressive and threatening spider Tabalai, his cronies – bugs and finally birds, that defend the sun from the spider. All audience, including children and their parents, will have a chance to participate in brawls and fight for the sun.
Performance “Spider’s Wedding” stands out for its unconventional scenography. Actors create costumes and props out of simple, but newly found objects, such as working gloves, that are transformed into birds’ feathers. This is not an accidental pick by the authors. Klaipėda Youth Theatre seeks to create interesting experience for the children and develop their imagination, fantasy and unleash unlimited creative potential.
